M. Born and Company clothiers (of Chicago) built clothes to be worn world-wide. This lot contains five large plates depicting fashions available for the spring and summer of 1919. Interestingly, the U.S. Government Economy Board specified unlined pockets on dress cloths. Presumably in conservation during wartime, but the war was over in November of 1918. Women's and children's clothes are always shown in the background. One broadside has several cloth swatches on the flipside. Each one is 17.5 inches X 19.5 inches some soft corners but ready for framing, in very good condition. This is how fashion was advertised a century ago.
