Rare assay report from MIT for A(lexander) Agassiz, son of famous 19th century geologist Louis Agassiz. This assay was for a sample of gravel weighing 42 grams containing two tenths of an ounce of gold. Signed by mining professor Robert H. Richards. 5 x 8" Alexander Agassiz was heavily involved in copper mining in Michigan, as well as exploring copper properties in Peru and Chile. It is unclear where this sample was from. Like his father, Alexander did a lot of work also with zoology.
