Moore patent Firearms Co. and The National Arms Co. Brooklyn NY, made from 1865-1870. There were about 6000 made total between both companies, 3000 each. This is a .41 rim fire black powder cartridge derringer with a single 2 ½” barrel that swings sideways to load. Moore produced only blued barrels with decorative broad scroll engraving on the brass frame. This Moore is important because it was the first of the large metallic cartridge derringer pistols on the market. IN 1870, Colt Firearms Co. purchased the Moore and National companies and began their own production of the Colt First Model Derringer under the Colt name. This derringer needs some mechanical TLC such as a good oiling a historic piece of firearm history. State: City: Date: ID#45774
