This is a beautiful black and white photograph taken of Bridal Veil Fall by one of Yosemite’s earliest, if not first photographer, Charles Leander Weed. The photo is framed and matted, measuring 21”x 15” and 26”x 32” framed. The fullness of the fall would indicate that the picture was probably taken in late spring or early summer. Weed was working in Sacramento when entrepreneur James Hudson, who had first visited Yosemite in 1855, invited Weed along four years later. This is a majestic view of the fall, very sharp and mounted on sturdy poster board and then the matting. Frame is in older shape but has no severe damage. This is a rare chance to own a unique black and white photo of a Yosemite landmark done by someone other than Ansel Adams.

Originally from the Robert Greenwood Collection (Talisman Press). Fred Holabird's Personal Collection.
