Collection of nine extra rare, very colorful and whimsical advertisements for Maier & Zobelein Brewery in Los Angeles. The approx. 3 x 5 inch high gloss cards by Raphael Tuck & Sons London, Paris, New York, were designed in England and printed in Germany. Maier & Zobelein Brewery opened in 1882 and closed in 1907. In 1874, the Philadelphia Brew House Brewery was established near Union Station. That same year German immigrants Joseph Maier and George Zobelein bought the brewery and renamed it “Maier & Zobelein Brewery.” Then in 1907, Zobelein purchased Maier & Zobelein Brewery, and renamed it the LA Brewing Brand Beer. Prohibition made breweries go dark from 1919-1933. In 1948, LA Brewing Co. was sold to Pabst, along with Eastside Brand Beer.
