Post office had only been open in 1885 when this cover was sent. Purple octagonal postmark with matching star in circle cancel. Corner advertising for the Cherokee National Male Seminary. As part of the treaty with the Cherokee Nation, schools were set up for male and female Cherokees. The male seminary was open from 1851 to 1909. The post office closed a few years later.
