Lieut. Eric Bergland, Corps of Engrs, U.S. Army. 1875. Drawn by C. Thompson, Topog'l Ass't. Scale 1 inch=16 miles. Expedition of 1875, under the command of 1st Lieut. Geo. M. Wheeler. Stretches from Southern California (Los Angeles) to Southern Nevada. Minor tears along edges. Fine condition. Bergland made a summer and winter trip. He ended up recommending that "no such diversion can be successfully made at any point along the present channel of the river within the territory of the United States." (Annual Report, Wheeler, 1876)
