Early scarce map from the Atlas to accompany the records of the Union and Confederate Armies. The map covers California to Colorado. Shows proposed route of the CPRR to just east of the Reno area (no Reno), but then stops, and none of the rest of the route is shown (map data too early). This is one of only 2 maps I know of (FH) that shows the town of Janesville near where Steamboat is today. Fort Churchill and Fort Ruby are the two prominent points in Nevada. Colorado is very bleak with respect to mining camps, showing only Auraria, Breckenridge and St Vrains Fort. Generally very fine.
