This is a set of two maps labeled "The Black HIlls" made from reconnaissance by Cpt. William Ludlow Corps of Engineers 1874 drawn by Sergt. Becker, and a second geological map by Professor N.H. Winchell. Both maps completed 1874 prior the Custer Battle at the Little Bighorn River. The Winchell map is in color for geological identification. Some tearing at the folds. In very good condition. The Ludlow map at 26 in. X 41 in. The Winchell map is at 19 in. X 27 in. Please see photos for details.
