"Kirby's Bar is like going from Currier & Ives to the Old West of Frederick Remington. A pot bellied stove warmed us and kerosene lamps provided the light. An honest-to-god Old Coot pours the drinks and occasionally utilized the strategically placed spittoon," was one person's description. Over the intervening years it has been turned it into the Midas Saloon & Dinner House, one of the truly wonderful and unique places in all of Nevada. Base has been broken and bottom right of marble sign has very chip in it. (Please see the photograph. Very heavy. Needs to be picked up or shipping will be costly. This is a newer piece, but still full of history of Kirby's and the almost ghost town of Midas! A great garden piece! Also included is a hand colored photo from Midas of two wagons travelling through rocks. State: Nevada City: Midas Date: FHWAC#: 41749
