Original shaving mug that belonged to Marcus Daly. Daly was a mining businessman who helped establish the Anaconda Copper Mine in Butte, Montana. Daly learned about the mining industry from Comstock giants, John W. Mackay and James G. Fair. This shaving mug was made by the Melchor Bros. Decoration Co. Their maker's mark is stamped three times on the bottom. It is blue with a floral pattern and Marcus Daly's name clearly written across the front. Gold-colored trim around the top and bottom and on the handle. This is a true gem from the Mackenzie Collection. 4 inches tall, 3.75 inches in diameter. Very good condition.
