Lot of 2. Very rare imprinted revenue! 1) Check issued in 1870 to E. Dickman & Co. Signed by "Bonanza King" mining millionaire/US senator James G. Fair. RN-B16a. 2) Check issued in 1870, signed by "Bonanza King" mining millionaire John Mackay. The Mariposa Mill was located at the head of Sevenmile Canyon, south of the Sierra Nevada Mine, and north of Virginia City. Kelley reports on it in 1862. By 1867, the Bank of California/William Sharon ring owned it and it was called the California Mill. In 1871-72, it was again known as the Mariposa Mill and was processing ore from the Hale & Norcross. [Ref: Ansari]
