An early Gold Rush liquor license, issued to Louis Blanco for three months at a cost of $15. Signed by county treasurer John A. Paxton. Blue paper with black print. 4 x 8.5.” Two punch holes at left where receipt was attached to a book of receipts. Louis Blanco owned a one-story brick building in Marysville on the east side of Virgin Alley, between First and Second Streets, measuring 20 x 33 feet and erected in 1856, which was valued at $1,000 in the Marysville Directory of 1857 [Ref: yubaroots.com/directories].
