Brass and iron spittoon, measures 7.5" in diameter, approx. 4" high, with a solid heavy rim base. The removable conical brass lid with locator tabs reveals cast lettering, indicating "Fred K Sharp Sole Owner of Walton s Pat May 5 1885 Newark NJ." The inner 'bucket' is removable cast iron. There are (3) small dents around the body circumference. Fred K. Sharp was noted for producing several designs for spittoons seen and used in General Stores and Saloons. Brass was a favored material for its ease of cleaning, desirable as can be imagined. In overall very good condition, exhibits some age spotting and tarnish, to be expected. Please see photos.
