Dateline June 22, 1864. Nevada Territorial period. Incorporated February 23, 1864. #25 for 20 shares to S. Fuller. Signed by Signed by secretary John Hind Jr (sp) and president Miles (sp). "Massachusetts Ledge - Reese River District." No edge, corner, discoloration or pin hole issues. A 25 cent (Power of Att'y revenue stamp appears on the upper left corner. White settlers began to arrive in Lander County in 1862-63. Many settled around the Reese River in hopes of striking it rich. Though several mining camps emerged in those early years, only two survived to the mid 1860s. A few more mining camps were established in the 1870s and 80s, but they too failed. Mining success from Austin drew many away from the area [Paher, Nevada Ghost Towns & Mining Camps, 1970, p. 159] Not listed in Filer.
