Lot of 116 photo reproductions. This is an incredible collection of views from the Gold Rush to the 1920s, Grass Valley Area. All are repros, but we're not sure if the originals still even exist. Photos are B&W 8 x 10" and show the deteriorating edges of the ambrotype originals. Mining camp shots of: Spanish Bar, Grand Mountain Bar, Maine Bar East and West, Cranville, Herman Mine, Kennebeck Bar, Sardine Claim, Hoggins Bar, Young America claim, etc. Shows how the American River was put into a massive flume so that they could mine the river bottom! All the photographs are numbered on the back, 1-126. Not present are 41, 48, 49, 51, 53, 54, 55, 56, 79, 81. This is an incredible and historic California Gold Rush archive. Please inspect.
