Mau & Co., San Francisco Brewery, Eureka, 1879; pictorial billhead for Albert Mau & Co., 1882, SF, with vignette of building; half letterhead for Mau, Sadler & Co., 1888, SF; and 1890s illustrated billhead for H. Mau & Co., Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association, Eureka. 2) Small advertising booklet for Mau Bros., Gents' Furnishing Goods, Boots, and Shoes, Eureka, Nev. 2.5 x 4.25" 3) 1925 receipt for OR Mau, Men's Furnishings, Eureka. 4) Scalloped brass token. H. Mau / & Co. // GF / 1 / Drink. 5) Registered letter receipt, 1879, for letter addressed to Albert Mau & Co. Henry Mau got his start in Hamilton, Nevada in 1869 with a retail liquor business known as Mau & Co. (with partner Fred Heitman). They also owned the Barnum Restaurant and the Pony Saloon. With the decline of Hamilton, they bought the San Francisco Brewery in Eureka, Nevada in 1877. They sold the Pony Saloon in 1880 and concentrated on their Eureka businesses.
