4 pieces of clothing recovered from the Easton trunk found at the S.S. Central America shipwreck. 1.) Ansel Easton's necktie, classic triangle with finished ends, 2 x 42 inches. This tie had a coating of some sort. 2.) lightweight cloth pants and of a loose fitting construction without formal closure mechanisms at the ankle. The fly has no closure mechanisms whatsoever, with only a single button closure at the waist, button still present, and a lace-up tightening mechanism in the center of the back side. The ankle area has an open 5-inch split for looseness. These physical characteristics lead us to believe these pants may be sleeping wear, not underwear. Overall length 35", inseam 22" (clearly made short purposefully,) waist 34". Material appears sound, except the waist area which is degrading, More so on the rear. 3.) Ansel Easton dress shirt with embroidered white floral patterns in chest area. No markings. material generally sound except some degradation along the bottom of the tails. Overall length is 32" with a 16" open-button chest area. Four-button closure, none remaining. Inseam of sleeve is 17" with a 14" collar. 4.) Pair of men's socks. 9" unstretched foot length, 9.5" from the heel to the top of the sock, form-fitting ankle, cotton, no markings.
