Colyer on Dec 14, 1922, registered and countersigned Dec 15, 1922. Raised comp. seal. Brown border. Talented staff developed one of most admired sports cars of the decade; the 1910 Type-35R Raceabout, capable of over 90 mph. Oct, 1919, after the last involved original developer died, company obtained by a Wall Street firm. Ex-Packard VP Emlem Hare took over organizing Mercer under the Hare's Motors corporation. Hare looked to expand but within a few years, the cost of acquisitions and economic recession forced liquidation. Purchased by Durant Motors in 1922. Last Mercer produced 1925.
