1st Model Frontier Army Model Single Action. Very little finish as is custom for working guns of the period. Works excellent. Very clever design, stripping in seconds for cleaning. Lanyard ring, typical on this model, has been professionally removed and filled in from the period. Uses 1880's Army 5 inch barrel 44 caliber "Merwin and Hulbert " cartridge. These were originally 7 1/2 inch barrel guns. This one has possibly been returned to the factory and professionally shortened as the barrel is crowned and sight installed. Unusual checkered walnut grips.
