Issued 1879 Metallic Cons. Gold and Silver Mining stock, for 7750 shares! Mine vignette.
The Metallic stocks (3) came with a batch of Bodie stocks I purchased from the descendant of a mining stock broker who dealt primarily with bodie issues, hence the assumption it was "bodie."
Upon further research, which is difficult for this company, I found the following:
The Metallic was one of the first discoveries, c1878, in or near the Lake District, in view of Mono Lake, that also contained the Mammoth mine.
Two mining camps developed quickly, Pine City and Mammoth City, both located in late 1878. The Metallic was near Pine City. The Metallic District was formed for a short while, located 1 ½ mi SW of Pine City., with rocks assaying $666/ton gold and $59/t silver. By June, 1879, the mammoth was the better of the two mines, and the Metallic was not mentioned again in press.
