Letter is datelined In Franco, February 4, 1861. Cover has an address of Feb. 4. Yet how can a Wells Fargo cover come from France. and why has the cover been glued on to make this a coverless letter? Letter is from Augustin Roger and addressed to Donacio Marzon. Something happened to G Maldonado (ugly bad treat) and this letter seems to be trying to get to the bottom of it. Accompanying documentation shows the Maldonado brothers owned the Mexican mine and sold it in 1863. The Maldonado Brothers and their Mexican American workers used pre industrial techniques to excavate on of the most profitable healthy Comstock Mines [James] Perhaps it is from the French consulate in San Francisco. Letter is in French, but is accompanied by translation.
