This is a Pancho Villa era Mexican sword c.1910. It is 28 in. overall length with a 22 5/8 in. reasonably sharp blade. The blade is etched mono-tone on both sides; the left side has a pair of griffons under a crown, and the other says "Hay como me aprieta el cincho y me roza la retranca que habiendo fanta. Potrinia nomas por una relincho". The hilt is of aluminum with leather grips and the pommel is an Eagle's head. The eyes are not jeweled. There is light pitting on both sides of the blade and there is no scabbard.
