Mica Peak was a high elevation in the chain of mountains southeast of the city, 25 miles distant. The mica taken out was in large sheets and the company already had an order for 5000 lbs. from Denver (Settlers' Guide to Homes in the Northwest: Being a Hand-book of Spokane by Dallam & Edwards, 1885).
