21 postcards of 1800's 6 outlaws and lawmen Bat Masterson (2) and humorist Will Rogers (4). 1) Black Bart (1 picture) whose real name was Charles Earl Boles. He was an English born outlaw born in 1829. He was noted for leaving a poetic message after 2 robberies. He was eventually caught when he dropped a handkerchief and was found by the laundry mark. He died on February 28, 1888. 2) John Wesley Harden (3 pictures, 2 duplicates) was an outlaw and folk icon. Harden worst killer in Texas killing between 20 - 40 people. Born May 26, 1853 and killed with shot in back by an off duty policeman in El Paso on August 19, 1895. 3) James - gang of 6 including father, Frank and son Jesse. Jesse joined the Quantrilla Raiders at 16 years of age. He robbed banks and trains for 17 years, was knows as Robin Hood of Old West and killed 23 men. Killed at age 32 by his cousin Rob Ford in 1882 for the $10,000 reward. 4) Bill Longley (William Preston Longley) born October 6, 1851, known as Wild Bill Longley. He killed 32 men, mainly Africian Americans was considered one of the deadliest gunfighters in the Old West. He was known for his gun speed and quick temper. He died at 27 years of age on October 11, 1878 by hanging. 5) Bat Masterson (William Barclay Masterson) was a U.S. Marshall, U.S. Army Scout, lawman, professional gambler and a journalist. He became a sheriff in Dodge City, Kansas and then became a reporter for the New York Morning Telegraph covering sports and his opinions on world events. He also became friends with President Teddy Roosevelt. He died on October 25, 1921 at the age of 67 of a heart attack. 6) Joaquin Murietta Carrillo (1) was know as the Robin Hood of the West. During the 1850's California Gold Rush he became a Sonoran 49'er and became an outlaw when the state of California offered a $5,000 reward for him after he killed people involved in his wife's gang rape. It was assume he was killed in 1853 but not proven. The fictional character of Zorro was written about him. 7) Youngers (2 pictures) The three brothers rode with Jess James. Cole was captured after being shot 11 times. Rob killed in Northfield battle. Jim committed suicide. 8) Will Rogers ( 4 pictures) was an American stage, motion picture actor and vaudeville performer besides being a cowboy, humorist and a newspaper columnist. born November 4, 1879 a Cherokee citizen and died in a plane crash with Wiley Post in Alaska.
