Very early for this company! Pass No. 147, issued in 1898 to Edward H. Brown, superintendent of the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad. Signed by SB Cushing as president & general manager. Printed on cardstock. Nicknamed the "Crookedest Railroad in the World," this 8.19 mile line was completed just two years before in 1896. Later, a 2.5 mile spur was added into Muir Woods. A fire in 1929, combined with automobile access, proved to be the end of this scenic Marin County rail. (Prag Collection) City: Mill Valley State: California, Date: Inventory# 39055
