A slot machine from the Mills Novelty Company, c. 1940s. The machine is a 10 cent hand operated, 3-reel Hi-Top Jewel Bell model with a 'Black Diamond' finish consisting of a deep maroon top and deep blue body/front. It has a jackpot window on the front. It still has the original factory paintwork as well as the original Mills Co. decals on the side. The inside of the machine has a Mills test sticker with its serial number (#536789). The original paperwork is attached to the inside back cover; the inside back cover itself has been repainted. Included with the machine is a key to open it and the original cloth cover. It was allegedly used in a gangster's play room in Chicago. Wonderful piece of gambling history; see photos. Not in working condition, needs repair, has original dimes.
