The Mineral Industry annual reports of the AIME are priceless reports on mining in America for each year. They began publication in 1892 and went through about WW2. At the initial time of publication, the USA was in an economic slump. The price of silver had dropped, a political war was on over the silver issue, while gold remained stagnant at $20.67 per ounce for more than seventy years while inflation continuously rose.
New exceptionally important gold discoveries were made at Cripple Creek in the 1890s, then two gangbuster discoveries were made at Tonopah and Goldfield Nevada by 1903 all three of which brought important new economic growth to the USA.
These two volumes are excellent examples of what was happening development and production wise at the beginning of that phase, as well as in 1908 when it truly exploded, particularly at Tonopah and Goldfield.
Both in fair to excellent condition.
