Here is a great pair of "Early" miners lunch boxes. Item # 1 of 2: Embossed on the front & rear shoulder is : " National" . 9" tall x 8 3/4" wide x 5 3/4" deep. Galvanized sheet metal, with darker shoulder area, and round top. The top opens up for food storage, as well as the body of the box, holds a lot. Extra drinking cup inside. Hand made and soldered , with swing handle and wooden grip. Extra fine condition, with no damage. Rare Item as well. Item # 2 of 2: Embossed on the top of the swing handle is " Buckeye", very unusual. Also, embossed on the base is : " Buckeye " / Real Soft/ Aluminum/ Made in Ohio//...20 Gauge // Oval, 8 1/4" high x 8 3/4" long. Top 1/4 , has a section for smaller items, while the remainder of the body can accommodate a real mans lunch. Also on the top ring of the lid, is a tag with the number #946. This was the miners number, so that he could be kept track of, in case of an accident. A couple of minor indentations on the top, and a little salt corrosion on the inside, that will clean out.. Otherwise a very fine and attractive item. No damage Great pair of RARE items, for the mining collector's" Man Cave". ( RH ). Utah
