This lot includes several items from the Geff Pollack Collection including a 23x20-inch black wooden frame with four 7.25x9-inch black and white photos, each scene related to the use of a Gardner Denver ore car loader in an underground mine. All the miners in these pictures are wearing fiberglass hard hats with carbide-acetylene lamps. This lot also includes three similar fiberglass hardhats in good but worn condition (and without lamps). Also included is a General Electric Expulsion Type Primary Cutout rated for 100 Amperes at 2500/6000 volts. It is contained in a wooden box approximately 15-inches tall, seven inches wide, and nine inches deep. Opening the door on the front pulls out the nearly nine-inch-long by one-inch-diameter fuse element and disconnects the circuit. Inside you can see the intact white porcelain insulators that guide the supply wires into the box. Open or closed, this is a fascinating display piece. Lastly, this lot includes two wooden plaques, one on which are attached eight embossed metal straps that probably were used to identify underground mine electrical circuits. The other plaque was originally the side of a dynamite box, but it has been hand labeled with the following text: "Any man who is trust worthy to his country After so long ???? soldiers ???? must Be on the job and spend up all the time Which is a hon?r to all men. And oblige ???? Your Self. Bull Shit ??? ????" A parallel line of holes numbered 1 through 16 borders the right side of the text.
