Mining and Scientific Press, 1881, 104 issues; and 1882, 97 issues, January through December. May or may not be complete. All fine plus condition.
This very important publication was printed in San Francisco and was instrumental in the publication of advanced progress, ideas and theories in science. It was also the voice of the mining community, and as such the only good reporting mechanism of the day, as it contained reports from small and obscure mining districts throughout the western United States. An incredibly important reference, rarely used because the microfilm copies were done early and are poor quality. Not digitized by major services (yet).
The 1880s were key years in metals production all over the West, from Leadville and Cripple Creek to the goldfields of Montana, Utah silver and copper deposits, and of course Nevada, Arizona and California.
these are key years for Bodie and Leadville! [
