Wetzlar, Manufactured in Germany circa 1958. Light tan pigskin case, with measuring chain. The model B was the first subminiature camera with a built-in light meter that did not require batteries. Based on a selenium cell, it converted light into electricity, and drove the meter directly. That made it 15 mm longer than its predecessors, the Minox Riga and Minox-A. The Minox-B was by far the most popular of all Minox subminiature cameras, with 384,327 units manufactured between 1958 and 1969. For many years Minox-B was the worlds most famous and widely used camera for espionage photography right until the end of the Cold War in the early 1990s. Calibrated in meters. Complan f: 3.5. f= 15 mm lens. (Serial number 609134)
