There are over 60 stock certificates signed by George J. Gould of the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad Co. (1886). George Jay Gould was the son of the "railroad robber baron" Jay Gould noted for his unethical and (now) illegal business practices. Bribery and insider trading information were part of daily trade strategies at that time. It was reported that Jay Gould (the father) bribed President Grant's son-in-law to learn more about futures in the gold trade. He later controlled the Union Pacific Railroad in 1873.
