Lot of 13. 1) Rare Duplicate of Exchange, 1880, Agency of The Bank of California in Virginia City. From JW Oakley and Charles Farnsworth to Charles MacDonald. US 2c blue document stamp. 2) IOU from O. S. Carville in 1868 Virginia City. FOUR Untied States Document stamps: 50c, 25c, 25c, and 5c. All different. One year before this account of Carville was found in the Daily Alta, California newspaper, –A most murderous assault was committed, on Wednesday night last, by highwaymen, on the person of O. S. Carville, Superintendent of the Ogden Mill, lie was found near the Savage works, bleeding and insensible from his wounds. At last accounts his consciousness had revived, but he is still unable to give any vivid account of the assault. He has a wife in San Francisco.”3) Wells, Fargo & Co Express billhead dated 1878. Unused Savage Mining Company billhead attached by glue on back. 4-7) Four Jumbo Extension Company documents circa1911-15. Two checks for Dividend #1, Envelope with a corner cover advertising, and a statement of Dividend #6 to stockholders. 8-10) Three stocks: Nevada Boy Goldfield Mining Company 1907, Nevada Hills Extension Mining, 1907 and Elizabeth Mining 1895. One signed by future United States Senator Tasker Oddie. 11) California State Telegraph Company, 1864, 500 barrels to be delivered by steamer. 12-13) Two Pima County, Arizona checks.
