Western Federation of Miners. Booklet is 27pp. Rare, but heavily damaged (pieces missing, heavy stains). 3.25 x 5.75" Citizens Print Shop, LA. The Mojave WFM union lasted from November 9, 1899 to February 27, 1911, when miners were making $3.00 to $4.00 a day for a hard fought for 8 hour working day. This union was one of only a few WFM locals within Southern California, and had to contend with the Desert Mine Operators. This association encompassed the desert areas of Arizona, Southern California, Nevada, and declared it would "not discriminate against non-union men." Joining forces with the Desert Mine Operators association were the following Mojave mines: Thomas & Boyle Company (Queen Esther), Exposed Treasure Mining Company, Echo Mining Company, and the Karma Mining Company.
