Stock Certificate from the Montana GMC of Colorado. Incorporated in New York. Certificate number 325 issued on May 25, 1864 at New York to Robert A Fisher. Signed by James Mammoth(?), and E Whitehead. Printed by Geo. C Mann of New York. Size 11 by 6.5 inches. In average condition. Not cancelled. 25c Protest Revenue stamp. Three 2c stamps on reverse. Five assessments for $1.75 listed. Vignette is seal and includes pilgrim, Indian, allegorical ladies, etc. They "have 200 feet on the Kansas 200, on the Kent County, and 500 on the Illinois, all on Quartz Hill. On the Kansas they have one shaft 50 feet deep with an 8 inch vein of ore; on the Kent County one shaft 40 feet deep crevice of gossan three feet wide ore just coming in; on the Illinois two shafts 40 and 60 feet deep, ore vein 24 inches wide. They stopped work on the mines in the Fall of 1864" [Hollister p191] This company went bankrupt in 1871.
