Four ledgers of Montana merchants.
A) Peter Wilson and Son's ledger for 1895-1913. This ledger records the customer's name, what they bought, how much they paid, and the method of payment. The most common products sold by this company were oats, wheat, and barley. 12.25 x 7.75, approx. 450 pages, good condition.
B) The Iowa House ledger from 1901. The Iowa House was a boarding house in Melrose, Montana. This ledger has records of boarders, when they started boarding, and how much they paid for lodging and meals during their stay. 12.5 x 8, good condition.
C) Unknown company ledger c. 1890s. This ledger lists individuals and an amount of money either paid to or by each. Tucked into page 54, there is a check from the Merchants National Bank signed by H. Lindner. Some of the names in this ledger appear to be Native Americans. 12.5 x 8.25, approx. 200 pages, good condition.
D) Mentrum-Briggs Company sales book. The Mentrum-Briggs Co. was a wholesale dealer in liquors, cigars, and bar fixtures. They were located in Missoula, but did business throughout western Montana and eastern Idaho. This ledger contains records of sales made in 1904 and 1905. 18 x 12, approx. 500 pages, good condition.
