Very attractive and rare stock certificate issued for 500 shares at Tonopah in 1906. Signed by Z. (Zeb) Kendall as president. The company held 50 acres of unpatented gold bearing land in the Tonopah mining district. Development was by shaft powered by steam hoist (Mines Directory, 1910). Zeb Kendall was a founding father of Goldfield and a renowned promoter around Tonopah. His brother was the first murder victim in Goldfield (over a mining claim). Zeb also promoted Rawhide (Nevada) and later the Divide district. A notorious gambler, he lost a number of small fortunes. In the 1930's, he bought up much of the Comstock tailings and, with a superior milling process, proceeded to make yet another fortune. In 1902 he built the Palace Hotel, the first hostelry in Tonopah. At the beginning of the excitement in Goldfield, Zeb Kendall opened the January lease which was the first in that camp. He and his associates struck it lucky on this and hit the ledge when they had been working only two days.
