A collection of 48 pieces of ephemera from Montana, c1887-1937. Includes mostly mining, with some railroad, surveying and other businesses' - correspondence, letterheads, billheads, invoices, telegrams, etc. Some of the items are as follows: Chicago, St. Paul and Kansas City Railway Company, shipping invoices for copper, c1890 (3); Ennis, MT, hand written invoice for hauling and building a sheep "cabin" and corral, c1897; Helena and Victor Mining Company, Missoula National Bank of Missoula, MT bank register, c1887; and correspondence written to R.C. Halliday, ordering liquor and cigars, c1893. R. C. Halliday was a liquor distributor and general merchandiser in Dillon, MT. Halliday went to Montana in the early 1880s and for a time was a passenger conductor for the Utah and Northern Railroad. In 1885 he established a wholesale liquor operation in Dillon, that he operated until 1896. Plus 42 more pieces of ephemera. This collection is a great archive of material for the Montana historian.
