Lot of 88 plat maps (land survey maps) of Montana townships including Deer Lodge, Silver Bow, many more. Dates: 1877 (when MT was a Territory) to 1955. Survey General Office, Helena, Montana, stated on most plats. Each is titled: Township #__ North/South, Range #__ East/West of the Principal Meridian, Montana. Map sizes 17 -18" x 22-26". Map scales vary and are measured in Chains per Inch (ex: 10 chains per inch, 40 chains per inch, etc.). Field Notes are included in a 1904 survey for the Subdivision of Fractional Township 4 North. Range 11 West. Condition: many have edge tears, a few quite severe, but all intact and in reasonably good condition, all rolled up. Note: the Montana meridian extends north and south from the initial monument on the summit of a limestone hill, 800 feet (244 meters) high, longitude 110° 39' 33" west from Greenwich. With the base line on the parallel of 45° 47' 13" north latitude, this true meridian governs the surveys in the state of Montana. The initial point lies near Willow Creek in southwestern Montana (Wikipedia). City: State:Montana Date:
