Six Montana ranch ledgers.
A) 1915 ledger from Valley View Ranch in Vaughn, MT. Includes sales and/or expenses for this ranch. Page 81 contains a list of cooking utensils brought to the ranch. Some laborers and their wages are also listed. 9.75 x 7.5, approx. 140 pages, good condition.
B) Raymond Cattle Company minute book for1914-15 and 1930. Contains by-laws and a certificate approving the articles of incorporation. The rest of the book contains meeting minutes of stockholders' meetings. The minutes from 1914-15 are handwritten, and the 1930 minutes are typed and pasted onto the pages of the book. 14 x 8.5, approx. 150 pages, only 37 pages are used, good condition.
C) 1916 ledger from Elk Run Ranch in Highwood, MT. Includes information about various expenses including farm equipment, household equipment, advertising, salaries and wages, repairs to buildings, feed, etc. 14 x 8.5, approx. 140 pages, good condition.
D) Ledger of an unknown ranching company dated 1915 and 1928-29. Some officers of this company include William Cockerill, August Buergie and George Russell. This ledger includes financial records and meeting minutes of the company. On pages 84-90, there are records of Shropshire rams that were probably bred and raised on the ranch.12.5 x 8, approx. 300 pages, good condition.
E) 1906 account book from Kenison and Wilson Bros., sheep ranchers. has records of general expenses, hay feed, employees and wages, sheep and wool sales, etc. 12.5 x 7.75, approx. 100 pages, good condition.
F) Ledger of an unknown ranch from 1906-09. This ranch was selling horses and cattle. Some records in this ledger indicate how the livestock were branded. This company was depositing money into the First National Bank of Chinook and the American National Bank of Helena. 14 x 8.5, approx. 300 pages, only 8 are used, good condition.
