This is a unique presentation of five one-troy-ounce, 999 Fine Silver commemorative coins celebrating the Montana Statehood Centennial in 1989. Each encapsulated coin features an large mammal native to the state on one side and a detailed bas-relief of the early human history of Montana on the other side (see photo for details). All five coins are displayed in a 9.25-inch wide, 5.25-inch tall, and 1.5-inch thick, hinged walnut case cut into the outline of Montana, with five holes in the back for the coins to be seen and an approximately 4 x 6-inch ceramic tile bearing a colored drawing of a Montana pioneer family on the front. The name "P&R Woodworks, Stevensville, MT 59870" is branded into the back. Four felt pads on the back indicate this was to be displayed with the intent of opening the hinged top to display the five coins. A red velvet lining on the inside top protects the capsules. This comes from the liquidation of Northwest Territorial Mint. City: Stevensville State: Montana Date: 1989 HWAC# 79556
