Lot of 8. This is a nice group showing communication between the post and Indian traders at Ft. Shaw and Ft. Benton. 1) Four are sent from Fort Benton, 1871-1884. Two are addressed to post trader JH McKnight at Fort Shaw from fellow post & Indian traders the Power Brothers at Ft. Benton. A third is sent by McKnight. 2) Two are sent from Helena to JH McKnight at Ft. Shaw, 1885 & 1886. Both are sent from TC Power (who would go on to become a Montana senator). One describes a fair: Big Success. Over three thousand attendance yesterday. Same today." 3) Final two include: one sent from Sweetland in Ft.
