Storey County Auditor's Office. Dateline Virginia, Feb. 4, 1875. At a meeting of the Commissioners of Storey County, $75 was allowed for the Montgomery Guard for rent of the Armory for January 1875. Signed by the county auditor and deputy. Signed on the back by Captain Donovan. 7 x 8.5" Fold with some separation. The 1873-74 V&T directory lists the Montgomery Guard under the Nevada Militia divisions in Virginia City, and states that Donovan is captain and 43 men are enrolled. They are Company D.
