Lot of 5. Three rare stock certificates plus two issues of a market review publication. 1) The Shoshone-Bull Frog Gold Mining Company. Incorporated under the laws of the State of Wyoming, 1905. #64. Uncancelled. Issued for 1000 shares to J.N. Taylor on Sept. 18th, 1907. Signed by T.F. Bonneau (vice president) and E.H. Sanford (secretary). Reverse is endorsed. Green border with top vignette of deer with antlers and bottom vignette of hut. Printed by Out West Co. Print, LA. Stain upper left corner and folds. 2) Montgomery Shoshone Consolidated Mining Company. Incorporated 1906 in South Dakota. #51. Uncancelled. Issued for $1.66 2/3 to Arthur L. Sorsen on Mar. 24, 1906. Signed by McDonald (2nd vice president) and Oliver Wren (?) (secretary). Not endorsed on reverse. Brown border with black type and no vignette. Printed by The Brown-Green Co., 48 John St., N.Y. Toning, folds, and a tape repair along a fold. The Montgomery-Shoshone mine was located by E A Montgomery near Rhyolite, Nevada in 1904 and became nationally known because Bob Montgomery once boasted he could take $10,000 a day in ore from the mine. It was later owned by Charles Schwab, who purchased it in 1906 for a reported $2 to 6 million. The Montgomery Shoshone Consolidated Mining Company was made up of the original Montgomery Shoshone, the Shoshone Polaris, and the Crystal Bullfrog mines. Printed by The F.W. Gardiner Co. Press, Salt Lake. Soiling along top edge and a series of tears that have been tape repaired. Two small tears and smudges along bottom edge. Reverse is endorsed. 4) 1907 and 1908. Two issues of Fortnightly Market Review (No. 12 and 13) printed by Nat. C. Goodwin & Company (Incorporated), Mine Operators and Stock Brokers, Reno, Nevada. Both eight pages. Advice for investments and market analysis. No. 13 includes a negative report of Montgomery Shoshone Consolidated.
