Stock Certificate from the Mount Alpine Gold Mining Co. of Colorado. Incorporated in New York. Located at Griffith. Certificate number 609 issued in March 9, 1865 at New York to George A Brown. Signed by J Yeoman, and J Randal. Printed by Henry Spear, New York. Size 9.5 by 8 inches. Very Nice condition. Not cancelled. 25c Power of Att'y revenue stamp. Brown signs receipt attached to bottom of cert. The Mount Alpine Company built a large handsome mill with 24 stamps. It started them then stopped. They did a good deal of work on the Griffith, Corisannie and other lodes. Subsequently the Company was reorganized and is now known as The What Cheer. Colonel Wm M Hale of Providence represents it.
