Chloride is a forgotten mining area in Churchill County. A February 6, 1907 article in the Reno Evening Gazette says, "…the Mountain Cedar Company has opened up its property and is now working three shifts of five men each. The company has a large deposit of ore and is not only doing development work, but is extracting ore for shipment. Some of the ore is high grade and worth hundreds of dollars per ton." Number 65 to 50,000 shares to Charles Cirac on June 23, 1906. Signed by L. J. Brockback and R. M. Tupera(?). Also signed by Reno attorney Benjamin Cutler. Cirac was a Fallon resident who patented a SAFETY REVERSE MOVEMENT LOCK FOR AUTOMOBILES in 1917. Cutler arrived in the Nevada in the early 1860's, served on the Territorial Legislature, and was a District Attorney in Churchill County.City: ChlorideCounty: ChurchillState: NVDate:
