Four framed Desert Magazine covers featuring the art of Victor Clyde Forsythe, a Southern California artist who once shared a studio with then young artist Norman Rockwell. Forsythe was fascinated with mining history, sometimes living in ghost towns on extended painting trips. These are from June, July, August, and September of 1960. Titles are "the Gold Rush", "The Mining Camp", "The Mining Town" and "the Ghost Town." This series follows the town from birth to death. The magazine focused on the desert country of the Southwestern United States and Northwestern Mexico, and covered a broad range of desert subjects. The pictures are bright, full of action and humor, and capture the beauty of the landscape. City: Palm Desert State: California Date: 1960 HWAC# 59002
