According to the pass, this was "the crookedest railroad in the world." No. 4266, issued to A. E. Ladwig (gen. agent for C. & N. W. Ry.). Illustrated background showing Mt. Tamalpais. Signed by the president (William Keus Jr.) and general manager. Very good condition. This 8.19 mile line ran between Mill Valley and Mt. Tamalpais, where passengers arrived at a mountaintop tavern. The railroad suffered two major blows: a fire in 1929 and the popularity of automobiles. (Prag Collection)
