This lot includes two proof sets of the Ford Motor Company Centennial Medallion Collection made by Northwest Territorial Mint. Both collections include fifteen 1.5-Troy-ounce, 999 Fine Silver medallions in the same oval shape as the iconic FORD logo oval. The fifteen medallions are stored in a cherry-finished, hinged wooden box in that same oval shape. The interior of the box is lined with deep blue velvet with fifteen oval wells to hold each piece. The inside lid of each set has a pocket holding a colorful 18-page booklet that gives a short biography of Henry Ford, a brief history of the Ford Motor Company, and a description of each vehicle represented in the collection.

The medals in both sets in this lot were struck with a proof-like, mirror finish in the background and the unique vehicle in raised, bas-relief with a frosted, matte finish. The reverses of all fifteen pieces is a stylized representation of the Ford 100-year Anniversary logo with "EST. 1903."

One of these two sets has been selectively plated with 24-carat gold to highlight the vehicles, the edge of the coin, and the entire Ford logo on the reverse.

The 100-Year Collection is represented by the following models:

1903 Model A
1914 Model T
1926 Trimotor
1928 Model A
1932 V-8
1939 Woody
1948 F-1 Truck
1949 Custom
1955 Thunderbird
1964 1/2 Muistang
1966 Bronco
1968 Torino
1986 Taurus
1991 Explorer
2003 Ford GT

Most of the unplated silver set is in good condition, but some are tarnished, most notably the 1926 Trimotor. The selectively gold-plated set still look very good, with minor tarnishing and a bit of haziness on some of the pieces. The wood cases have a few nicks and dings.

All of the selectively gold-plated pieces are edge-marked with "1.5 Troy Ounces Fine Silver" but none of the non-plated pieces bear that edge mark. These must have inadvertently skipped the manually done edge-marking step at the Mint. Even so, they still weigh 1.5 Troy ounces. The brass latch of the non-plated set is out of alignment and does not latch properly.

These are the same designs as the sets included Lots 77133 and 77134 and come from the liquidation of Northwest Territorial Mint. Date: City: State: HWAC# 77132
